My Hair Care Routine

I like to think I follow a lazy girl version of the Abby Yung method. I love her hair, but I just can’t commit to a 12 step routine. Full disclosure: I only wash my hair twice a week.
Pre Wash: Once a week, I apply Epres Bond Repair all over my hair. I’ve found it works best when I section my hair to make sure everything is fully saturated. After that, I add the Olaplex bonding oil to my ends and let the whole thing sit for about 20 minutes.
Wash Routine: I always start with the Aveeno Clarifying Shampoo—it’s been a favorite for a long time and really gets the dirt and grime off my scalp. Next, I use Pureology Hydrate shampoo and conditioner. Once a week, I swap the conditioner for the RŌZ Foundation Mask, usually on the days I didn’t use the Epres. I’m not loyal to any specific hair mask, but I’ve really enjoyed this one. I’m testing out more affordable options, but nothing has been worth sharing yet.
Post Shower: After my shower, I wrap my hair I a microfiber wrap to help speed up drying time. I apply Pureology Color Fanatic Heat Protectant Leave-In Conditioner pretty generously. I then dry my hair with the Babyliss blow dryer. If my hair feels extra dry, I add a second round of Olaplex to the ends. I curl my hair using my GHD curling iron, and I leave the curls in ringlets for at least an hour before loosening them with my fingers. To finish, I set everything with Nexxus medium hold hairspray.
Other helpful tips: If I need a little dry shampoo, I use the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo. When I shower and don’t wash my hair, I use shower hair caps to keep the humidity out. I find this helps extend my curls for longer.
As you can see I need to work on affordability this year with my routine so stay tuned!
