This Not That: Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

Before I dive in, a quick note: I have thick, wavy, long hair—so this review is coming from that perspective. If your hair is on the thinner side, don’t worry—I’ve got some alternative suggestions for you too.

As a busy mom, I don’t have much time to spend on my hair. When I do a blowout, I need it to last a full week (because let’s be honest, that’s how often I actually wash and style it). So I need a blow dryer that gets the job done—fast.

I bought the Dyson Supersonic because my drying time was creeping past 20 minutes, and I’d heard this would help cut that down. While it did save me a few minutes, it didn’t cut my dry time in half like I’d hoped. Also, whatever tech Dyson uses seems to leave my hair a bit frizzier than usual—I often have to run a straightener over it before curling.

Now, let me tell you about my tried-and-true favorite: the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium. I’ve had it for years, and it’s a powerhouse. It dries my hair quickly and leaves it shiny and smooth. If you’ve got long drying times, this one’s a game-changer.

For those with thinner hair, the full-power version might be too intense. I recommend trying the lighter version—it uses less heat and is gentler, which I think would be perfect for my fine-haired friends.
