This Not That: Epicutis Lipid Serum

I’ve been getting so many requests to review the Epicutis Lipid Serum, so I finally decided to splurge and grab it—especially since I had a laser treatment coming up. It’s marketed as a holy grail for repairing damaged skin barriers, so I figured it was the perfect time to test it out.

Turns out, I didn’t even need the laser to wreck my skin. I managed to burn my face using the Medicube Zero Pore Pads (yes, the ones that promise glass-like skin). So perfect opportunity to really put Epicutis to the test!

Here’s the thing: while it did help repair my barrier, I just couldn’t get past the texture. No matter how little I applied, it stayed sticky all day and night. That meant I could only use it at night because it made my makeup separate during the day. And honestly? For the price, I expected more. I’ve healed my skin barrier before with products that cost a fraction of what Epicutis does, so I didn’t really see the hype.

On the flip side, Cosmedix has been a line I’ve been testing for awhile while, and their C.P.R Skin Recovery Serum is such a better alternative. It gave me the same soothing, redness-reducing results without draining my wallet. It’s lightweight, layers beautifully under moisturizer, and my skin felt calm and hydrated almost instantly. After a week, the irritation and tightness were gone, and my skin looked like skin again 😂

If your barrier is compromised—whether from over-exfoliating or post-laser—COSMEDIX C.P.R is the one I’d reach for every time. It’s proof that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get your skin back on track.
