This Not That: Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump

Tarte is a brand I’ve historically side-eyed more than praised. That infamous influencer trip they hosted really changed how I see them, and honestly, I haven’t been able to unsee it. But when someone asked me to review their lip gloss, I decided to be a grown-up about it and give it a fair shot—grudgingly.

The formula does feel nice on the lips, I’ll give it that. But for the price? It’s just not worth the hype. Even on sale, it didn’t last nearly as long as I’d expect from a product that’s close to $30.

Then I stumbled across a different one on Amazon, and I’ve been reaching for it daily. It’s subtle enough for the office and feels super soothing when I apply it. The biggest difference? The Tarte gloss clung to my dry patches, while this one smooths them out beautifully.

I picked up the shades Sepia Kiss and In Bloom, and I’m genuinely impressed.
