This Not That: Veronica Beard Wilde Brocade Jacket

I had been seeing the Walmart hauls like everyone else, and this jacket kept popping up, so I finally ordered it to vet it for myself. The second it came in, I immediately thought Veronica Beard. It has that same polished, tapestry-style, slightly grandma-chic feel, but in a way that still feels very wearable. The vibrant colors and richer-looking fabric make it look much more expensive than it is, and it’s one of those pieces that instantly makes a simple outfit feel more styled.
It is true to size — I took my usual medium — and it is cropped, so if you already know you don’t like a cropped jacket, that’s probably the main thing to keep in mind before buying. But if you’re open to that fit, it’s such a good little fall transition jacket. The jacquard-style material looks elevated, it’s structured enough to dress something up, and because it’s machine washable, it feels a lot less precious for real life. I also think it’s pretty versatile: you can throw it on with jeans and a tee, wear it with trousers, or layer it over a simple dress and it pulls the whole outfit together fast.
