This Not That: rhode Peptide Lip Treatment

I love the rhode peptide lip treatment as much as everyone else — the smooth, glossy, my-lips-look-like-this-naturally finish is genuinely really good. Toast specifically is one of those shades that somehow works with everything, and I get why it's always sold out. But it's $20 a tube, and I can never keep track of my lip glosses to begin with. Between my girls taking them and the car crevice eating them (RIP to the Ole Henriksen lip gloss my car claimed earlier this year), I have basically accepted that lip products live a fast, dangerous life in this house. So spending $20 on something that will inevitably vanish just doesn't make sense for me — especially when I know I'm going to end up buying a few throughout the year anyway. I grabbed the essence Super Peptide Glossy Lip Treatment in Toffeetastic instead — same peptide concept, same glossy, cushiony finish, same smooth look, for $5. And the color is honestly so beautiful — pretty enough to layer over liner or lipstick, but also gorgeous completely on its own. I can keep one in every bag I own, my girls can "borrow" one without me spiraling, and when one eventually falls into the car abyss, I'll survive. Honestly, my lips can't tell the difference. My wallet absolutely can.
