This Not That: Armani Beauty Eye Tint Eyeshadow

I love a luxury eye moment as much as the next Sephora zombie, but shade‑for‑shade, I still end up on team e.l.f.

The Armani Eye Tint looks and feels expensive—gorgeous tube, fancy little applicator, really pretty on the lid when you hit the sweet spot. But here’s the thing: I am not a professional makeup artist, and this stuff kind of expects you to be. You need just the right amount, you have to move fast, and you can’t over‑blend or it suddenly goes from “soft wash” to “I’ve been fighting with my eyeshadow for 10 minutes.” It wears well, but it definitely comes with a skill requirement I just don’t naturally have.

The e.l.f. Liquid Velvet gives me the same one‑and‑done vibe without making me work that hard for it. I swipe it on, tap with a finger, and it blends into that soft, velvety wash that actually stays put. Yes, it dries fairly quickly too, so you still want to work in light layers, but it feels way more forgiving and friendly to people who are doing their makeup in real bathrooms, not under studio lights.

So for me, Armani is the “I have time and brain cells today” shadow. e.l.f. is the one I actually use on random Tuesdays—and that’s the one that earns the repurchase.
