This Not That: ZO Skin Brightalive

After my second pregnancy, I struggled with severe hyperpigmentation due to hormonal changes. When I consulted with a medispa, they recommended ZO Brightalive to help combat it. It was okay at best, but not something I could afford to keep buying.

Next, I tried the Musely spot cream, and it was a disaster. It gave me rosacea and completely wrecked my skin barrier. Hard pass on that one.

Then, during my deep dive into Korean skincare, I tried a K-beauty recommendation. While the results were slow (we're talking at least two months), it made a noticeable difference in lightening those areas. You really need to commit for a full month before seeing results, but it was easy to stick with since it didn’t destroy my skin barrier like so many others. Remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint! And this is one you can easily incorporate into your daily routine.

The only downside is that it’s not always easy to find. So, if you see it in stock, go full hoarder!

I should mention—I’m not cheating on my favorite Vitamin C serum from Maelove. She’s still my go-to gal. I usually rotate this K-beauty serum in at night as a treatment serum after my toner and before my moisturizer.
